Even More Halloween

Here in Nevada, we get a 3 day weekend over Halloween. It just so happens that ‘Nevada Day’ is a state holiday, which means NO SCHOOL and NO WORK for state employees like myself.

It is amazing how much you can get done with one extra day in the weekend. Not only did we go watch Cody’s football game, take our family photos, shop for last minute costume stuff, pick up Bree & Bailey’s glasses, hang sconces in our bedroom and go grocery shopping, but I also cleaned the garage and re-organized the computer room to make space for our new computer desk armoire and standing door armoire that arrived last week. Oh! Also, I did the usual 48 loads of laundry and watched two movies. Pretty good, huh?

So while I was cleaning the computer room I sorted through some old photos and found even more Halloween pictures to share with you.

Wahine Volleyball

Last night we went to see the University of Hawaii Wahines beat up the UNR Wolfpack in WAC Volleyball.

Other than the 46 times I had to get up and go outside with Janey because she 1) needed to go potty 2) needed more popcorn 3) pretended she needed to go potty or needed more popcorn, it was a very fun game. We got there an hour and a half early so we could have front row seats, which came in handy with all the getting up and down nonsense.

Wanna-be Wahines.

There’s nothing worse than taking your child to get her physical for volleyball and finding out that not only does she have an ear infection, bronchitis, and a touch of pneumonia, but her thyroid gland is enlarged and she needs further testing.

And then when you say, "Bree! I’m so sorry, I thought you just had a cold."

She slaps you back with, "Mom, I’ve been telling you for two days that I can’t hear anything at all, and you saw me coughing until I threw up yesterday morning."

Gulp.

It’s almost as bad as that one time she kept telling me that she had a sore back, and I was all, you’ll be fine just rest, you probably just pulled a muscle. But she wouldn’t stop complaining about her aching back, and finally A WHOLE WEEK LATER my sister noticed that she wasn’t peeing very much and urged me to have her checked out. You can imagine my horror when they told me she had a kidney infection. KIDNEY INFECTION. Someone needs to report me to the authorities.
