Amusing themselves

I lied.

I told you I wouldn’t be back for 12 days, but I couldn’t close my laptop without showing you how the girls kept themselves busy over the Thanksgiving weekend:

I won’t attempt to post the ones that are not suitable for work. I can only say that Kristy, Bree, Rachel, Bailey and Megan had a lot of fun.

And they’re cute.

Still alive

Way to leave you hanging, huh?

I tried to be all clever with my updates from the road and then WHAM! Gone. I could still be in Washington for all you know.

But I’m not.

I’m really up to my ears in work, work and more work, as my big conference is coming up in 12 short days.

But I thought I’d take a minute to tell you about how we got stuck in bad weather on our way home on Sunday and only finally got home on Monday around noon. (I think I’ve been at work ever since.)

Also, I wanted to show you a few pictures:

My cousin Sara’s baby, Sophia. Quite possibly the cutest. baby. ever.

I don’t think I heard her cry once the entire time we were there.

Cute!

The kids table.

Sophia with her great-great grandma (my great grandma.) So cute.

I was going to tell you that after a night of burying their faces in Bailey’s makeup bag, Megan and Bailey thought they’d remove their makeup with the CLOROX WIPES  thereby  BURNING THE SKIN around their eyes, but then, I don’t want to embarrass them. So I won’t tell you. It’s not cute.

Not their baby. (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the baby. She’s very cute. And photogenic. And doesn’t know how to cry.) (Did I mention how cute she is?)

Grandma and Sister. They’re cute too.

Aren’t you happy I took a moment to share all this cuteness? I promise I’ll be back with more exciting stuff in 12 days.

Giving Thanks

I’m thankful for the fact that I only ate half the pumpkin pie yesterday. And for the fact that I brought my camera on this trip to keep the girls busy:

This one makes me laugh because, were it not for the 22 year age difference, Bailey and I could possibly be the same person in this photo.

From The Valente Family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi again. I’m going crazy. Don’t ask me where we are. Somewhere in Idaho, I think.

Bailey is having a fit because Bree used the lip gloss before passing it to her first. Then Janey got involved because the lip gloss actually belongs to her, and NO BAILEY YOU CAN’T USE IT.

And Bree is rather annoyed that Bailey won’t move her seat forward another inch so she can be more comfortable sprawled across the back seat.

And Janey wants to take her seatbelt off.

And Jody got a warning from a cop heading in the opposite direction because he didn’t like the fact that we’re going 95 mph in a 65 mph zone so he threw his arm out the window and gave us a big thumbs-down-pumping-arm-movement, which I think meant we better slow our butts down, like NOW.

Update: 11:01 a.m. We just stopped for coffee at Skinners Rockhouse in Jordan Valley, Oregon (I guess we weren’t in Idaho after all) where Janey got a bag of rocks. I even took a picture for your enjoyment.

Update: 11:19 a.m. Bree needs food or she might die.

Update: 11:23 My husband called me a high-maintenance spoiled brat because I said my soy latte tastes weird. I have a right to an opinion, don’t I?
