Monday was the first day of school for the entire bunch. Here’s a little synopsis of how it went:

What you can’t see in this picture is Bree zonked out on the other couch. Somehow that picture of her mysteriously disappeared from my computer. (She probably didn’t want to freak you out again with her eyes flying half mast.)
What you don’t see in this picture is my husband with an exploded head from all the noise. He might not survive the weekend.
*Noise: Three teenagers and one five year old that are incapable of speaking without yelling. Yup, FUN.

Last month Janey and I went up to Clarkston for a week to visit my grandparents. Before we left, Janey was given this "Summer of Smiles" t-shirt (that she insists on wearing backward) from the dental office where Auntie Becky works.
After the first week, when she wore it (backward!) every day for 5 days straight–digging it out of the dirty laundry pile when I wasn’t looking, I totally hid it from her.
In the linen closet!
Because I’m tricky like that. (Seriously, how would she ever find it in the linen closet?)
After her bath tonight, I told her to go put her pajamas on while I was busy making out with my computer. Normally, I’m oblivious to everything and everyone around me while I’m working but the sound of bare feet jumping up and down on the kitchen floor, along with a gleeful "Yes! Yes! Yes!" made me look up.
There, in the middle of the kitchen with wet, stringy hair, was Janey wearing her (backward) "Summer of Smiles" t-shirt–laughing hysterically, jumping up and down, pumping her fists in the air and saying "Yes!" as if she had just scored the winning goal against Manchester United.
Score!
PS- Did you notice that I just updated this website FOUR TIMES IN TWO DAYS? Miracles do happen.
